{transitions}

I randomly had an early night with clients today so I came home before the boys were in bed. Some would say I should have found something to do especially since we are still in the big transition to big boy beds which is making naptime and bedtime not so fun.  For Mommie and Daddy that is.

So Mrs. Mellie headed home and I took my spot....right outside their bedroom. I am typing this at 9:11pm to be exact and I put the boys down at 8pm.  I have lost count how many times they have opened the door for me to tell them to go back to bed. Right now they seem to be laying by the door looking at me under the door giggling. D must be ontop of C, becuase he is telling him to "get off it hurts."

Hold please......going to put them back in their beds......

{school time}

C and D have so much fun at school. They play on the playground, have music time, paint, color and glue things, play with their friends and so much more. Now that we moved we are still driving to our same school by the old house on Monday's so they can go to school and Mommie can get some work done at Rara's house. C and D's rooms face eachother so they see eachother throughout the day but they have their own classes. We will all be sad when August is over and we won't be going back to this school. We are not sure where we are going in the Fall, I have the boys on 3 waiting lists so I am praying we get a spot soon. The boys have learned so much there and Mommie and Daddie both like and need the time when they are at school.

Not only do we celebrate two birthdays in August so do two of our really good friends. Today we went to Lyla's Ladybug Birthday Party to help celebrate her turning 3. C found his way to sit next to the birthday girl to savor every bite of his cupcake and ice cream. C LOVES cupcakes, D...not so much, he just kinda licks the icing and then finds something better to do. We found out later that C had been raiding the cakeballs so we have no clue how many he ate.

This is how I found the boys when I went in to cover them up. You can't see D's head, he has Monkey over his face.

Since we moved I usually put the boys to bed then go in my office and work while they settle down since those rooms share a wall. I love hearing them talk to one another. Latley, I have had to go in there every night to put C back in his crib because he was climbing out and then climbing into D's crib to play. Now that we have our big boy beds this was no surprise and so adorable.

As I took this picture it made me think about how being a mother is not about me. Every moment is about them.  As a mother I can not control every moment and make everything the way I want it becuase ultimately every moment it about the needs and happiness of C and D. 

{Baby D is 2!}

 Baby D, excuse me, Big Boy D, woke up to ballons all around the house for his birthday. Him and brother laughed and played while I made special birthday pancakes for him.

 Cooper and I worked hard to make his day special all day, eating his favorite foods(bananas), playing his favorite toys(trains), reading his favorite book(search and find) and watching his favorite cartoon(Dora).

 When Daddy got home we all sang him Happy Birthday and he got to blow his candle out (after C blew it out twice and we re-lit it 3 times)

We think he wished to go to Chic-Fil-A and play so that's exactly what we did!

Happy Birthday Baby D, I am not sure if can change my name for you yet. You are my baby, but you are so big and smart. Your smile, your curls and even your screams make everyday joyful and fun. I cannot image life without you.

Tonight we said good bye to the cribs. Tomorrow we are giving the cribs to the other babies that need them and we are getting Big Boy Beds. We have been talking about this alot lately and they seem excited. I had the bedding out the other day so I could wash it and C came in the room and said "ahh, I love it!"

August is here and I plan to do a picture a day again this year to help update and document our daily lives throughout this month. August has a special feel in our family since both boy's birthdays are this month.

So we started out the month with a photo shoot. I have never had studio pictures done and thanks to Groupon, it gave me an excuse to try it out. Every picture of them is priceless to me.
