{final touches}

As some of you know my scrap shack has been causing major problems since we thought we were done with it. All the rain in October showed us that there were major leakage issues and with all the moisture in the room, due to standing water (sometimes up to 10 wet-vacs full of water), the ceiling started sweating and hence ruining stuff I had laying out. SO, my Dad finally offered his technical assistance and he and Brandon litterally riped the roof off and put a new one on in 1 day! They were so tired!!!!
I know B is so tired of even thinking about my room, s0 our fingers are crossed this will fix all the problems. B said that if this does not fix it, he is pulling his truck into the backyard and Ramming it down! I sure hope he doesnt come through on that.
Now I am craving some major scrapbooking time, I have alot to catch up on!
Oh, and our next project is a 'man room' for B!!!!

{34 weeks}

I finally moved into the Scrap Shack!!! Last weekend Brandon and I finished painting the trim, which was NOT fun and we painted the work bench. That was the last major task before moving in all my stuff. So I spent time this week unpacking and trying to organize the room. I am sure everything will get moved around again once I actually get time to scrap. Here is a tour:

Here is all my shelving and my paper storage...
Here is the work bench one of Brandon's friends built in kid you not 45 minutes! I think there is ample space for four people to scrap when I get around to having my monthly scrap night that I have been talking about...Brandon still has to get the top for the work bench. We are not exactly sure what we are going to put on it, but for now it is workable as is (I just hope that it really will get finished one day)...
Here is a better look at all the storage I have under the bench. I went to IKEA to get more storage boxes, and of course I still could use more...oh and Ipo is saying HI:)
This is just another view of all my 'junk'. I finally can use both tiers of my clip it up which I have sitting on my original work table which is along the back wall...
There it is, but there is still more organizing I want to do. I need to touch up the wall paint and mop the floors. Eventually I will decorate the walls and when Farrah buys her new couches she is donating her famous chair and ottoman to the room. I just hope it fits. You can't tell in these pics, but there is an open space in the front of the room right where you walk in. I am sure this room will be an ever going project of mine, but that is fine, I love it!!! I will say, Brandon is very proud of showing off this room after all the work and stress of building it and I know he is so glad he is DONE. Thank you B for all your hard work building this for me and making room for Cooper, we love you!!!

My baby bump is growing!!!
I am definetly feeling very pregnant now, but no real complaints. I have been very blessed with an easy pregnancy thus far and I can only pray the next 8 weeks goes the same...
With time ticking away we are steady working on getting the house ready for baby Cooper. The scrap shack now not only has four walls, the walls are painted (Honeydew Green), the floors are stained, the air conditioner is in as well as the electricity. Brandon is working on the last details so we can get all my scrap stash moved in before my shower this weekend. I will be so relieved when scrap stuff is in the shack and baby stuff is in the nursery. Then all I will need to do is find a place for everything, glad I love to organize!
more updates to come!!!

edited with pictures:

***WARNING: 1st post with no pictures***
Why? Because I am too tired (or lazy) to go grab the camera and show you what I am talking about. However, I wanted to report on all our progress after the long Memorial Day Weekend.
1) The Scrap Shack officially has four solid walls, insulation and drywall!!! I am ready to paint it as soon as it is tape and bedded (however you spell that).
Look! four walls!!

Brandon tape and bedding

B saying "I wish this was done"

Cain helping...
2) The Nursery (yes, it feels weird saying that in relation to our house) is painted!!!

sneak peak at the blue and brown

I will show the finished walls with the finished room...

3) The blue couches are no longer:) For those that have heard me complain about them for the last few years, B and I have finally come to an agreement on new furniture. I guess you could say we 'compromised.' To be 100% honest the small couch is still in the house. We were to go pick up our new chair tonight which will officially kick the small couch out, but due to the rain moving in we have decided to wait till tomorrow. Poor Cain, I think he knows something is up with his couch, he is going to be so mad once it is gone. He will actually have to sleep on the floor!!! Yeah! As of now, no more blue couches, I am SO excited:)

Thus why we are so tired tonight. I am due for a 28 week picture, but due to the fact that I am already in my PJ's that too will wait till tomorrow. I hope to update with pictures ASAP!

And finally a baby bump picture:

I am definitely feeling the bump now; as I try to do everyday things my bump will get in the way or make it difficult. I will say that so far, knock on wood, this pregnancy has been very easy physically so hopefully the next 2 1/2 months will go just as smoothe. Emotionally the anticipation is starting to set in due to the fact that we think August will be here tomorrow. So far fime has just flown by!

{26 weeks}

As the clock is quickly ticking closer and closer to August 15th, B and I have been getting to work on our projects. Here are some pics of B and Cody working on the scrap shack, the first two were taken about a month ago when they were putting up the frame and starting on the walls.

Last weekend B had to fix the water problem by breaking up the cement and digging a new trench for water to drain around the shack rather than into it, ohhhh and since it has been raining buckets around here the new trench was tested just after he got it dug. Yesterday we got most of the needed materials to finish the scrap shack so B and Cody got to work finishing the walls, mounting the door and preparing the walls for Mark to come this week and start running electricity.
Hopefully, and with fingers crossed, at this rate B will have the shack done by the end of the month. And to my luck he doesn't have another race till the last weekend of the month, so the possibility of lots of progress is HIGH!!!

As for my project, I have spent the last two weekends re-finishing a dresser that has been in our family forever to use in the nursery. Here is a pic before I started:
And waaalaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My plan is to have a painting party Memorial Day weekend to transform the green walls into blue and brown. The blue I used on the dresser is an accent blue I am also using on a toy chest my mom bought Cooper as well as a little stepping stool.

About a month ago we moved out the old bed and brought in the crib and changing table Donnell is letting us borrow. So as soon as my scrapping furniture is out in the scrap shack I will finally be able to get the nursery organized and decorated!!!!

Since today is technically my first Mother's Day I treated myself to a pedicure, fresh cut sunflowers for the house and this bassinet/pack n play for Cooper. This will be what we use in our room till he graduates to his crib.
Happy Mother's Day to all my friends and family!!!
